Better Login for USMSecure in Laptop & Android

Since sometime WiFi is not stable and always request to login into WiFi, you can let computer to save the login detail in to your PC and let the PC automatically login for you.

Here is the provided step discovered:

1) Keep your laptop is in WiFi area. Connect your wifi account manually first to proceed.

2) Right click the WiFi button and choose "Open Network and Sharing Center".

3) You will see Network and Sharing Center, Please click "Wireless Network Connection (USMSecure)".

4) In Wireless Network Connection, Click "Wireless Properties".

5) Make sure your Security type is "WPA2-Enterprise" and Tick "Remember my credentials"

6) Click "Advanced Settings" to proceed.

7) Choose "User authentication" in authentication mode. Click "Save credentials" to continue.

8) To enter your credentials, type Student Mail as yr user name and IC Number/Passport as your password.

9) Press OK to finish. Your WiFi will reconnect again then done.

1) Open setting menu and turn on WiFi
2) Open WiFi setting menu and connect to USMSecure
3) Setting as below:
        Security: Enterprise (802.1x)
        EAP method: PEAP
        Phase 2 authentication: none / MSCHAPV2
        Identity: You USM email
        Password: IC/Passport No.

Bus route USM MAIN CAMPUS

Bus route schedule simply describe for cs student:

Red: Special bus to DK from RST
Route: Padang Kawat - Desa Indah Kembara - DK S,T,U,V & W - Aman Damai - Padang Kawat

Recommended for RST and IK to go Dewan Kuliah/DTSP (normally use for BM, BI)
Bakti Permai to go Padang Kawat.
Never pass through CG,Fajar Harapan.

3. Hari Jumaat berhenti operasi jam 12.45 tengahari – 2.00 petang (Solat Jumaat).Keadaan
0. jalan depan masjid sesak.
4. Apabila laluan Hamna berhenti jam 10.30. Ia akan terus masuk laluan Hijau apabila jam
0. 1.00 tengahari bas ini akan beroperasi seperti biasa di laluan Hamna hingga jam 10.30 malam.
5. Yuran pengangkutan RM60 untuk satu semester.
6. Semua pelajar tidak dibenarkan membawa kenderaan sendiri.
7. Laluan bas dari K.kejuruteraan - K.Induk - K.kejuruteraan  disediakan sekali sehari bagi kemudahan 0. berulang alik antara dua kampus.

Registration Course For First Year Student FAQ

During First day of school open day with first year students, registration is needed and giving the one of the form like below:

For your information, during First Year First Semester,you are required to register CPT111,CPT114,CST131,LKM400 (for Malaysian),SHE101* (for Malaysian),LMT100 (Band 1-3 only), you are not allowed to register other courses than those including LSP300 (Band 4) or higher,and other school course as minor(only start from semester 2). 

* Diploma student please proceed to your academic advisor (described in another form you get)

Every Course have own type and units.

Summary of the courses you going to regiser:

CPT111 (T) - 3 units

CPT114 (T) - 4 units

CST131 (T) - 4 units

LKM400 (U) - 2 units

SHE101 (U) - 2 units

LMT100 (Z) - 2 units (band 1-3 only)

Total unit accumulated should be 17 (band 1-3) or 15(band 4 or higher)

How to fill in the forms:

1) No Kad Pengenalan for Malaysian (without dash), No passport for International students

2) Name (follow in your IC)

3) Program Pengajian :- Sains Komputer

4) Semester Daftar :- 111 (11 in first part mean 2011 and 1 at back side means semester 1)

5) Tahun Pengajian :- TAHUN SATU (non-diploma student only)

6) Penasihat Akademik :- Will describe in notice

7) Senarai Kursis yang didaftarkan as described in above. Rmb dont will wrong especially course type (T,U,Z).

8) Go meet your penasihat akademik as well. or maybe penasihat akademik will announce meeting time with you all.

9) Pengakuan Pelajar: Signature and that day you register.

After registration:

1) You should get the slip daftar after you submit the form.

2) In your slip of your course registration: You should notice LKM 400 and LMT100 have own group number. Please proceed to SOLLAT (School of languages,Literacies and Translation) to check the notice board about LKM400 and LMT100 your group location, or you can check the time table here.

Time for the class should be same, just drop down your class location. Go save it and check it after you register.

FAQ:

1) How about band 4-6 can register higher level english (LSP300,LSP404) at Year 1 sem 1?

Sorry, the registration other course is not available for year 1 semester 1, however, registration course from semester 2 are freedom through e-daftar at USM Campus Online.

2) What is course type (T,E,M,U,Y,Z) as describe above?

T- Teras

E- Elective

M-Minor

U-University / Optional

Y- Audit (for extra knowledge without facing final exam)

Z- Prerequirement course

Each course have own type that show what course you have to take for your studies, total unit you have to take is 125-128units (T 90 units,E or M 20 units,U 15-18 units, Y,Z no need unless required) 

3) May I know that course code represent?

CPT111- Principles of Programming (C++)

CPT114-Logic & Applications

CST131-Computer Organisations

SHE101-Hubungan Etnik

LMT100-Preparatory English

LKM400-Bahasa Malaysia IV

4) What is the compulsory U course to credit? (for malaysian)

SHE101 (Year 1 Sem 1),WUS101 (Year 2 Sem 2),HTU223/TITAS (Year 2/3/4 Sem 1),LKM400, English (4 units), LHP456 (if not taking KO-K package and Third Language Package)

Note: LMT100 is not for credit, only use for pass to take LSP300 or higher.

U is for university requirement courses such as BM,BI, SHE101,TITAS,WUS101 for your graduation. Since University compulsory courese is only 12 units but need 15 units.

3 U course optional packages offered in computer science:

1) Third Languages Package (must finish all, 6 unit)

2) Uniformed/Seni Silat Cekak Co-Curriculum Package (4 - 6 Units)

3) Co-Curriculum/Skill Course/Options (3 Units) (non-packaged ko-k, extra english courses, and/or foreign languages) Computer science option package compulsory LHP456

5) What Minor we able to choose?

Start from Year 1  Semester 2, student is required to choose any minor course (cannot be mix) offered as one of your learning. However, if decide elective,still need choose 2 courses from minor (can be mix) for year1 sem2 and year 2 sem 1 ,then Year 2 Sem 2 start taking elective courses.
